Annual Collaborative Climate Science Workshop in the Pacific Islands 2019

The third Annual Collaborative Climate Science Workshop connects staff and advisors from NOAA Fisheries, NOAA's National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service, and the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council. The goal of this year’s workshop is to improve collaboration between scientists and managers.  The workshop will focus on specific ongoing projects that have the potential to enhance our ability to conduct climate-informed living marine resource management. 

This workshop is a component of the Pacific Islands Regional Action Plan for climate science. The five-year plan includes steps to better track, forecast, and incorporate information on changing conditions into marine resource management. This will provide managers with the timely information they need to reduce impacts from a changing climate and to increase the resilience of fish stocks, fishing-dependent communities, protected species, and habitats.
