About
This five-day, four-night (dormitory style) program, also known as “summer camp for teachers,” will bring educators together to explore the Chesapeake Bay's cultural coastal habitats and iconic communities. Participants will practice mindful engagement with the environment and conduct field investigations with local scientists, community leaders, and educators from the NOAA and Maryland's Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. This workshop is based out of the Karen Noonan Center, a beautiful education center surrounded by miles of wild saltmarsh on the shores of the Bay. This video shares some highlights of the Teachers on the Estuary program. The program is cohosted by the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, and the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office.
