Recreational Demand Model Decision Support Tool Working Group For Summer Flounder, Black Sea Bass, and Scup
Working group to develop a Decision Support Tool for the Recreational Demand Model.
About
The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council and the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission have adopted a new specification process for setting recreational bag, size, and season limits. The federal and state measures implemented under this new approach are being developed using the Northeast Fisheries Science Center’s Recreational Demand Model . To improve the performance and functionality of the RDM for management purposes, we are constructing a decision support tool. The DST will synthesize and automate the entire RDM process, from data gathering and model construction to model estimation and model outputs. Our goal is to build a user-friendly RDM DST that federal and state fishery managers can readily access for future regulation-setting assessments.
The RDM DST Working Group Meetings are held monthly, every third Thursday of the month, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. All meetings are virtual and the public is welcome to attend.
