Washington Sea Grant, in partnership with the Puget Sound Restoration Fund, Hood Canal Mariculture and the NOAA WDVA Veterans Conservation Corps Internship Program, is offering a free learning opportunity for people interested in the commercial cultivation of kelp and other seaweeds in Washington State.
Topics to be covered include:
- What you can grow in Washington waters.
- Factors to consider.
- Operating a seaweed farm in Washington State.
- Potential markets.
This webinar-based workshop will be broadcast live from Pacific Lutheran University. Limited space is available for in-person participation with priority given to veterans, active-duty military personnel, and those without internet access. The entire webinar will be recorded and freely available on the Washington Sea Grant website following the broadcast.
