Section 7: GIS Resources by State in the Greater Atlantic Region
A compilation of GIS maps showing resources by state.
When describing the baseline conditions of an action area in a consultation, it is important to use site-specific data wherever possible. In addition to the resources found on our GIS website, the following table is a compilation of resources that are free and available to the general public. General categories of the layers are listed below; the variety of specific GIS layers and their level of detail differ by state. Please visit the websites or contact the referenced agencies for the most up-to-date and detailed information. These agencies are responsible for the accuracy and quality of the data they provide. When referencing information from these maps during a consultation, please include an appropriate citation.
Categories of available data may include, but are not limited to:
Physical Structures: presence of dams, shoreline structures, and/or permitted or proposed aquaculture sites
Biological Features: shellfish beds, SAV, and/or wetland/marshes
Physical Features: benthic habitat, sediment, dissolved oxygen, and/or salinity/head of tide
