Katie Luxa

Katie (she/her) is a Biologist with the Alaska Ecosystems Program of the Marine Mammal Laboratory (MML). She studies the diets of Steller sea lions (Eumetopias jubatus) and northern fur seals (Callorhinus ursinus) and manages MML’s laboratory spaces. She also maintains several working specimen collections, including the MML Food Habits Reference Collection. Katie received her undergraduate degree in Marine Science from the Southampton College of Long Island University and her Master’s degree from Western Washington University. She has worked at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center since 2008.
