Fisheries Management Specialist

Lis is a Fisheries Management Specialist in the Catch Shares Branch of the Sustainable Fisheries Division (SFD). Lis holds a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography from Stony Brook University's School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences and a M.Sc. in Fisheries Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography. Prior to joining SFD, Lis was a postdoctoral research fellow with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute where she used genomic sequencing to explore seasonal dietary preferences of forage fish. Lis was also a postdoctoral research scientist in a joint position with the Gulf of Maine Research Institute and the NOAA NMFS Northeast Fisheries Science Center wherein she organized and wrote a synthesis of potential climate change impacts to U.S.-origin Atlantic salmon through the 21st century.
