Jess Peluso
Jess holds a B.S. in Geoscience from Central Connecticut State University and recently earned an M.S. in Biological & Environmental Science from the University of Rhode Island, where her research focused on environmental geochemistry. She is a former NASA RI Space Grant graduate research fellow and has worked on a multitude of NASA funded projects concerning astrobiology, geology, and climate science.
In addition to her strong research background, Jess is also passionate about science communication and outreach. She has worked as a museum educator at institutions such as Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill, CT, the Save the Bay Hamilton Family Aquarium in Newport, RI, and Old Newgate State Prison and Copper Mine in East Granby, CT.
As part of the APEX Predators group at the Northeast Fisheries Science Center, Jess uses her ample experience with analytical chemistry and spectroscopic analysis to help determine the ages of marine organisms.
