The research summarized in this report was conducted or completed during 1982 and was carried out by U. S. scientists, primarily those of the National Marine Mammal Laboratory, Seattle, Washington. Such research and reports fulfill, in part, the United States obligations under the Interim Convention on the Conservation of North Pacific Fur Seals. This particular report serves as the United States contribution to the 26th Annual Meeting of the Standing Scientific Committee of the North Pacific Fur Seal Commission (Washington, D.C. 1983).
