2019 Sea Turtle Strandings in Texas: A Summary of Findings & Analyses

This report presents information, analyses, and conclusions related to the investigation of sea turtle strandings in Texas during 2019. During this year, sea turtle strandings were more than two times above average based on statewide stranding numbers for the previous 5 and 10 years. We identified multiple causes based on analysis of stranding data, postmortem examinations, diagnostic testing, and study of environmental factors.
