Biological Opinion (Reinitiation) City and Borough of Juneau Docks and Harbors Department  Statter Harbor Improvements Project Juneau, Alaska

The action agencies in this document are the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the NMFS Office of Protected Resources, Permits and Conservation Division (PR1). The USACE proposes to authorize construction activities associated with the Statter Harbor Improvements Project. PR1 proposes to permit Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) Level A take (i.e., take by injury or mortality) and Level B take (i.e., take by harassment) of Steller sea lions and humpback whales in conjunction with the first phase of this project. This may potentially include forthcoming MMPA permits associated with later phases. The consulting agency for this proposal is NMFS’s Alaska Region. This document represents NMFS’s Biological Opinion on the effects of this proposal on endangered and threatened species
