The False Killer Whale Take Reduction Plan is to help reduce interactions between false killer whales and Hawai'i's pelagic longline fisheries.
The False Killer Whale Take Reduction Team developed the draft Plan to recommend regulatory or voluntary measures for the reduction of incidental mortality and serious or marine mammals to commercial fishing operations. The plan includes a review of the information available in marine mammal stocks assessment reports and any substantial new information that may become available since the publication of the most recent reports.
