Environmental Assessment for the Interim and Final Total Allowable Catch Specifications for the Year 2000 Alaska Groundfish Fisheries

October 24, 2018

Analysis of the Groundfish target species stock status, higher and lower trophic level species, and the physical and socioeconomical environment.

The federal action consists of setting interim and final groundfish total allowable catch specifications for the fishing year 2000 in the exclusive economic zone of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area and the Gulf of Alaska management area. The specified total allowable catch will, if approved, become the upper limit of groundfish harvested in the fisheries for the calendar year 2000. The environmental review process led us to conclude that this action will not have a significant impact on the environment. Therefore, an environmental impact statement was not prepared.   A copy of the finding of no significant impact, including the environmental assessment, is included.
