Review of the Marine Mammal Unusual Mortality Event Response Program of the National Marine Fisheries Service

This document reviews the National Marine Fisheries Service program to respond to marine mammal mortality events, and identify strategies to improve responses so that health trends and causes of disease can be determined, and effective timely responses that meet animal welfare and public outreach needs are mounted.

To improve effective responses to marine mammal mortality events, several actions are recommended.
