NOAA Fisheries periodically reviews species to ensure that they are listed under the Endangered Species Act appropriately. Because the ESA requires these reviews at least once every 5 years, they are referred to as 5-year reviews.
On August 23, 2004, the Southwest and Northwest Regions requested that the Southwest and Northwest Fisheries Science Centers conduct an update of the Status Review for North American Green Sturgeon (Acipenser medirostris) (Adams et al. 2002).
