Caribbean Exempted Fishing Permits (EFPs)
The following are exempted fishing permits that are currently applied for or have been issued for activities in the Caribbean.
Activities that may affect a fishery, community, or fishing sector may be reviewed by the Caribbean Fishery Management Council (Council) and be open for public comment. Those EFPs reviewed by the Council are listed below.
Current EFPs
Sampling Red Hind in Spawning Aggregations off St. Thomas and St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, University of South Carolina (pending)
- EFP for researchers and commercial fishermen to collect 60 red hind from each of the Hind Bank Marine Conservation District (south of St. Thomas) and Red Hind Spawning Aggregation Area (east of St. Croix) during the spawning season.
