5-Year Review for the Oceanic Whitetip Shark

We are required by the Endangered Species Act to conduct 5-year reviews of all listed species. The 5-year review must be based on the best scientific and commercial data available at the time of the review. We previously requested submission of any such information on this species, particularly information on its status, threats, and recovery, that has become available since its listing. We completed a 5-year review, which is available on the link below and includes information available in the Recovery Status Review for the Oceanic Whitetip Shark. We conclude that no change to the listing status is warranted at this time.
