Final Rule to Revise the Hatchery Programs Included as Part of Pacific Salmon and Steelhead Species Listed under the Endangered Species Act
Summary
Based on NOAA Fisheries’ most recent Endangered Species Act (ESA) 5-year review completed in 2016, NOAA Fisheries is updating the descriptions of Pacific salmon and steelhead species currently listed as threatened or endangered by revising agency regulations to specify the hatchery programs that are included as part of the listings.
Revisions include the addition or removal of specific hatchery programs, as well as clarifying changes to the names of specific hatchery programs. NOAA Fisheries does not propose to change the ESA-listing status of any Pacific salmon or steelhead species.
