Proposed Rule: Updating and Clarifying Provisions of the Magnuson-Stevens Act

NOAA Fisheries seeks public comment on a proposed rule that would update regulatory requirements to incorporate Congressional amendments to the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act’s confidentiality requirements.

The proposed rule aims to streamline data access for the fishing industry, Regional Fishery Management Councils, states, commissions, and other entities that need such information for fishery conservation and management purposes.

NOAA Fisheries will review public comments, develop a final rule, and revise our internal control procedures.
