IB 04-42: NMFS Closes Fishing for Groundfish with Non-Pelagic Trawl Gear in the Red King Crab Savings Subarea of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is closing fishing with non-pelagic trawl gear in the red king crab savings subarea of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area (BSAI) effective 12 noon, Alaska local time, April 23, 2004, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to prevent exceeding the 2004 red king crab prohibited species catch limit that is specified for the red king crab savings subarea of the BSAI and is pursuant to 50 CFR 679.21(e)(7)(ii)(B).

This information bulletin only provides notice of a regulatory change. For the purposes of complying with the regulatory change, you are advised to see the actual text in the Code of Federal Regulations.
