Abigail Sweetman is a Climate and Communities Social Scientist with the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission based in Juneau and working with Dr. Marysia Szymkowiak on assessing risks and vulnerabilities of climate change in Gulf of Alaska communities.
For this project Abigail is working with Dr. Szymkowiak to engage stakeholders in four Gulf communities (Homer, Hoonah, Sitka, and Kodiak) to create Quantitative Numerical Models (QNMs) and Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) to visually understand the social, economic, and cultural impacts of climate change in Gulf of Alaska communities.
Abigail received a MA in Global, International, and Comparative History from Georgetown University and a dual BS/BA in Biology and History from Saint Joseph’s University.
