Annie Gorgone
Antoinette (Annie) Gorgone is a Research Fish Biologist with NOAA Fisheries' Southeast Fisheries Science Center in Beaufort, North Carolina.
Annie has been working with marine mammals since 1992. She’s been involved with projects involving a variety of marine mammal species from the east coast of the United States, the Gulf of America (formerly Gulf of Mexico), the Caribbean, and Hawaiʻi. In 2001 she began work on NOAA projects at the Southeast Fisheries Science Center in Beaufort, NC. Her research includes stock structure of bottlenose dolphins by using photo-identification and biopsy methods. She assists with various sea turtle research projects including piloting research vessels for sea turtle assessments. Annie is now overseeing the Southeast North Atlantic right whale field efforts and collaborating with multiple partners to monitor and recover right whale populations.
