Christopher Long

Research Ecologist

Chris Long received a B.S. from Wheaton College, Illinois, and a Ph.D. from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, College of William and Mary.  He’s been a crab biologist at the Kodiak lab for 15 years and is the longest serving member of the Shellfish Assessment Program. His research spans a wide range of topics including crab stock enhancement, habitat use and requirement, predator-prey dynamics, effects of ocean acidification and ocean warming, and crab reproduction. He leads the dive program and the ocean acidification research program at the Kodiak laboratory.
