Cody Pinger
Research Chemist
Cody works in the Recruitment Energetics and Coastal Assessment group, and his research is focused on developing biochemical methods to better monitor Alaska's large marine ecosystems. He enjoys problem solving by using a wide range of instrumentation and analysis techniques, including: chromatography (both HPLC and GC), molecular spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, immunoassays, 3D-printing, and more. Cody is currently focused on developing protocols for rapid high-throughput measurements of lipids in fish and zooplankton, monitoring thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency in Chinook salmon, and developing analytical chemistry methods to support aquaculture studies in southeast Alaska.
