Research Zoologist (Bioinformatics and Genomics)

Dr. Dan MacGuigan is a Research Biologist with the National Systematics Laboratory specializing in bioinformatics, systematics, and ichthyology. He is working to develop voucher-based eDNA databases and harmonize genomic workflows between NOAA and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Dr. MacGuigan's research integrates genomic, morphological, and ecological data to answer questions guided by natural history.
