Erin Pickett
Erin Pickett is a NOAA Affiliate of the Southeast Fisheries Science Center through the Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) located at the University of Miami. Erin supports reef fish survey activities for the Southeast Fisheries Independent Survey (SEFIS) group based in Beaufort, North Carolina. These activities include: vessel-based reef fish trapping along the southeast Atlantic coast, biological sampling, and underwater video data collection and analysis. Prior to working with the center, Erin worked on a variety of marine conservation projects in Hawaii and on the west coast of the United States monitoring endangered seabird and pinniped species. She attended college at the University of California, Santa Cruz and has a Master’s degree from Oregon State University, where she studied the foraging ecology of Adélie and Gentoo penguins along the Western Antarctic Peninsula.
