Katie earned her bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Rhode Island. In collaboration with the NEFSC Apex Predators Program, her research focused on updating the reproductive parameters of the blue shark in the Western North Atlantic. While in school, Katie worked as a mate aboard a sport fishing and shark cage diving charter. Since graduating Katie has been involved in a variety of projects involving life history dynamics, fisheries monitoring surveys, and cooperative research gear studies. In July of 2023, Katie joined the Cooperative Research Branch as a Fisheries Biologist to support the Hook and Line Survey pilot project.
