Katie earned both her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and her Master of Science in Biological and Environmental Sciences from the University of Rhode Island. Alongside her academic studies, Katie gained extensive hands-on industry experience spending six years as a first mate aboard a recreational sport fishing charter.

In July of 2023, Katie joined the Cooperative Research Branch as a Fisheries Biologist. Katie has been involved in a variety of projects involving life history dynamics, fisheries monitoring surveys, and cooperative research studies. Driven by a passion for cooperative research, Katie leverages her unique background in both the scientific and commercial fishing sectors to recruit and coordinate with industry partners, fostering strong collaborations to advance sustainable marine science.
