Kristen is a Science Communications Specialist on temporary assignment with the NOAA Milford Lab. Her goal is to make research understandable, relevant and compelling to diverse audiences. She is trained in marine biology and has conducted field and lab research on the ecosystem services provided by oysters, as well as the ecological role of other marine invertebrates, including coral reef sponges. She is a 2012 Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship alumna. In her previous roles with the NOAA’s Office of Oceanic & Atmospheric Research and Office of Education, she provided expertise in science communications and environmental policy.
