LaGena Fantroy

Librarian

LaGena has worked for the last 20 years with the education and outreach team at the Pascagoula field office. She extends her efforts to education and enlightenment as a daily mission for all who are interested in the work performed by NOAA Fisheries research staff. As a mentor and classroom visitors to students of various ages, she has connected student interest and environmental science related awareness in an ongoing effort. Her educational accomplishments in this field of work began with completed studies in Environmental Science and Science Education. She has also completed a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science through the University of Southern Mississippi. It is a honor as well as a privilege to support anyone who may be interested in the agencies history and mission without boundaries. The opportunity of working with outreach is more that a duty it is a passion to reach and teach with innovative ideas that help support fish and fisheries awareness.

LaGena's profile was featured on the center's Faces of the Southeast Fisheries Science Center series. Meet LaGena Fantroy, Librarian
