Liz Ouellette

Data Quality Specialist

Liz earned a BS in Marine Sciences from UCONN in 2009. After college, she began as a Northeast Fisheries Observer, and after a year in the NEFOP program moved in house as a Data Debriefer in 2011. She later transitioned to a Data Auditor role, a Project Manager role, and finally into the Data Quality Specialist role in April of 2021. Liz ensures a high level of data quality is maintained across all Northeast Fishery Observer Programs by discussing the program’s standards with new trainees, developing and documenting improved data collection procedures, and ensuring data collected by observers is of the highest quality by reviewing submitted data for errors, resolving issues and applying corrective measures. She is also responsible for maintaining observer sampling manuals and other resource materials.
