Mackenzie Griffin, M.S.
Mackenzie joined the NOAA Fisheries’ Marine Mammal Health and Stranding Response Program (MMHSRP) in 2022 as the Prescott Grant Program’s Post-Award Manager. Her experience includes conducting boat-based photo identification surveys, assisting in marine mammal stranding response, and formerly a small animal veterinary technician. Mackenzie graduated with a B.S from University of Florida and a M.S. from Savannah State University. Mackenzie completed her studies with the publication “Spatial Variation in Mercury Accumulation in Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops spp.) in Southeastern U.S.A.” Mackenzie works closely with NOAA Fisheries’ Regional Coordinators, and the Marine Mammal Stranding and Entanglement Response Networks by supporting field response efforts and ensuring that NOAA’s conservation goals are met.
