Nicole Ferreira

Nicole was born in Providence, RI and grew up in Fall River, MA and has always loved growing up near the water. Nicole has always had a passion for the ocean and its many inhabitants. Nicole studied Environmental Science & Policy at Smith College and graduated in 2020. Before observing, Nicole worked in water quality and scallop research labs at UMass Dartmouth and conducted recreational fisheries surveys with Massachusetts DMF. Nicole started observing in February of 2022 and was certified in ASM, NEFOP, Clam Dredge, Pot Trap, and Longline, and completed one scallop trip! Nicole is excited to join the team and continue to teach the incoming groups of fisheries observers.
