Sarah Neumeyer
Sarah joined NOAA in Kodiak as a fisheries biologist in 2016. Sarah, originally from the mid-west, first came to Alaska in 2001 to train as a fisheries observer. She worked as an observer for 9 years, working out of many ports but mainly Dutch Harbor and her favorite, Kodiak, where she maintained residency while she was an observer. In 2010 Sarah transitioned to NOAA by becoming a fisheries biologist debriefer in Seattle, Washington. Sarah worked in Seattle for several years until the opportunity arose to take a job in the Kodiak office. She has been at the Kodiak office ever since, running the Fisheries Monitoring and Analysis field office and assisting the observers who come through. Sarah received her B.S. in Biology and Anthropology from Ripon College in Wisconsin. When not at work Sarah loves cooking, reading, hiking, swimming, and spending time with her young son and taking him on adventures.
