Starr has more than 25 years of experience as a senior software engineer and is currently the web application and database developer within the Budget & Finance Branch for NOAA’s Northeast Fisheries Science Center. She has been able to streamline processes and assist others in providing optimal services within their roles. Making work-life functionality, interaction, and reporting simpler. She also served as temporary budget analyst for the Information Technology Division when she came on board. Starr provides additional support to the staff by development in side-projects using Google applications (forms and sheets), coding with Google Apps Script.
Starr has a wide range of industry, consulting, and software technological skills. She often incorporates her problem-solving and artistic abilities within her applications. Starr was ranked #10 in the United States out of 490,306 U.S. application developers registered for the international Microsoft’s “Know It. Prove It.” 28-Day Developer Challenge. She is a certified Specialist in the entire Microsoft Office Suite. Starr and her husband Jeff owned their own software development business in Silicon Valley for a number of years before moving to the Northeast.
