A Monumental Celebration of Papahānaumokuākea
Waikīkī Aquarium is hosting an event celebrating significant milestones for Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument in collaboration with co-managers and other partner organizations.
About
10 years ago, Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument became the first mixed UNESCO World Heritage Site in the United States. The Waikīkī Aquarium will host an outdoor event with hands-on educational activities to commemorate the World Heritage status of the Monument and other milestones.
Participants will learn about the unique characteristics of the islands and atolls of Papahānaumokuākea as they explore the exhibit tables.
Artist and special guest Patrick Ching will also reveal a new Papahānaumokuākea coloring book.
