Northeast Groundfish Assessment Peer Review Meeting

Assessments for 10 groundfish stocks will be reviewed by a panel of experts to ensure that we are providing the best science available to fishery managers. These assessments are designed to provide catch advice and are the culmination of a process that started in June. The species under review are mostly caught off the Northeastern U.S. The fishery is managed by the New England Fishery Management Council.  

New data include updated catch and survey data, the newly revised estimates of recreational catch, and for some stocks, estimates of the federal bottom trawl’s catch efficiency.
