NOAA Fisheries will hold a meeting of the Permanent Advisory Committee (PAC) on May 22, 2023, to advise the U.S. Commissioners to the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission. This meeting is open to the public and will be conducted via web conference.
If you are interested in attending the meeting or receiving meeting materials, please fill out the meeting interest form by May 18, 2023.
Meeting topics may include:
- U.S. priorities leading up to the 2023 Northern Committee Meeting
- U.S. priorities leading up to the 20th Regular Session of the Commission, including potential management measures for tunas
- Other issues of interest
Members of the public may submit written comments on meeting topics or materials in advance of the meeting. Comments must be received by May 15, 2023. Meeting documents will be emailed in advance of the conference call.

What is the Permanent Advisory Committee?
The PAC is composed of individuals from groups concerned with the fisheries covered by the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Convention. It provides recommendations to the U.S. Commissioners to the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission on the deliberations and decisions of the Commission. This advisory committee was established under the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Convention Implementation Act (16 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.).
