Research Fishery Biologist

Sandy conducts age determinations for haddock and Atlantic mackerel, as well as measuring growth rings in sea scallops. Other duties include tracking precision levels for program staff, responding to requests for access to our archived samples, and researching ways to improve our age determinations. Sandy has been at the Northeast Fisheries Science Center since 2000, and received a B.S. from Eckerd College (FL) and an M.S. from URI’s Graduate School of Oceanography.
