2020 Pacific Hake/Whiting Stock Assessment

Draft stock assessment of the Pacific hake/whiting stock in U.S. and Canadian waters in 2020. This draft assessment is provided and distributed solely for the purpose of pre-dissemination peer review and will be reviewed during the Scientific Review Group held 25-28 February 2020.

This draft stock assessment reports the status of the coastal Pacific Hake (or Pacific whiting, Merluccius productus) resource off the west coast of the United States and Canada at the start of 2020. This document reports the collaborative efforts of the official U.S. and Canadian members of the Joint Technical Committee, and others that contributed significantly.  This draft assessment document will be reviewed during the Scientific Review Group (SRG) to be held 25-28 February 2020. The final 2020 stock assessment will be posted on the website following the SRG peer review meeting.
