Biological Opinion on the Issuance of Permit no. 19508 for Scientific Research on Sea Turtles along the Eastern Coast of Florida and the Northern and Eastern Gulf of Mexico

February 27, 2017

This biological opinion discusses the effects of the proposed permit and continuation of two long-term projects researching sea turtle populations in Florida and the Gulf of Mexico.

The purpose of the proposed permit is the continuation of two long-term projects on juvenile marine turtle populations in two eastern Florida developmental habitats and one on oceanic juveniles in the Gulf of Mexico. Project locations are: the central Indian River Lagoon; the Trident Turning Basin, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station; and the northern and eastern Gulf of Mexico waters offshore of Louisiana to western Florida.
