Biological Opinion on the Issuance of Permit No. 19697 for Scientific Research on Sea Turtles in the Coastal Waters of Puerto Rico

This document represents NOAA Fisheries' opinion on the effects of long-term projects studying green and hawksbill sea turtles in the coastal waters of Puerto Rico.

The Permits Division proposes to issue scientific research Permit No. 19697 for the measuring, weighing, photographing/videoing, tagging (flipper, passive integrated transponder (PIT), and satellite), sampling (blood and tissue), ultrasound, and tumor removal of green and hawksbill sea turtles in the coastal waters of Puerto Rico, including Mona, Monito, and Desecheo Islands, and the Culebra Archipelago.
