2018 Northern Red Hake Possession Limit Reduction

Revised 2018-2019 Specifications and Adjustments to the Skate Fishery; Framework Adjustment 6

We have approved and implemented Framework Adjustment 6 to the Northeast Skate Complex Fishery Management Plan. Framework Adjustment 6 reduces the management uncertainty buffer between the annual catch limit and catch target from 25 to 10 percent, allowing for an increase in the total allowable landings in the wing and bait fisheries for the 2018 and 2019 fishing years.

Blueline Tilefish Specifications 2019-2021

NOAA Fisheries announces final specifications for the 2019-2021 Mid-Atlantic blueline tilefish fishery. These measures apply in federal waters north of the Virginia/North Carolina border (36.550278 N Latitude). The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council manages blueline tilefish south of this line under its Snapper Grouper Fishery Management Plan.

Atlantic Herring Fishery 2019 Specifications and River Herring and Shad Catch Caps

This action implements an in-season adjustment to the Atlantic herring specifications and sub-annual catch limits for 2019. These adjustments are necessary to reduce 2018 herring catch limits that would otherwise remain in effect for 2019. This action is expected to prevent overfishing of the herring resource and lower the risk of the stock becoming overfished.
