North Carolina Aquarium Exempted Fishing Permit Application
The National Marine Fisheries Service received an application for an EFP from the North Carolina Aquarium.
If granted, the exempted fishing permit (EFP) would authorize the use of hook-and-line, standard traps (i.e., for commercial black sea bass and minnow), and SCUBA to collect various species of reef fish and live rock off North Carolina.
The objective of this project is to incorporate North Carolina native species into the educational exhibits at four aquariums located on Roanoke Island, Pine Knoll Shores, Fort Fisher, and Jeanette’s Pier, North Carolina.
The effective dates of the EFP would be five years, from the date of issuance
