NOAA's Antarctic Research Program to Finish Building New Field Camp for Scientists

Scientists heading south for the 28th season of field research at Cape Shirreff will soon have a new place to call home. The camp rebuild project gives scientists a safe place to conduct research while honoring the Antarctic landscape and ecosystem.

Two new buildings sit in a dirt field at Cape Shirreff. Both have slanted roofs, sit on raised decking, and are covered in stainless steel cladding.
