Pacific ocean perch inhabit the outer continental shelf and upper slope regions of the North Pacific Ocean and Bering Sea. Pacific ocean perch were occasionally managed within a species complex with four other associated rockfish species.
The Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands (BSAI) Other Rockfish complex is currently managed in Tier 5 and is assessed on even years to coincide with the Aleutian Islands (AI) groundfish trawl survey.
Through 2010, octopuses were managed as part of the BSAI “other species” complex, along with sharks, skates, and sculpins. Historically, catches of the other species complex were well below TAC and retention of other species was small.

Fish previously referred to as rougheye rockfish are now recognized as consisting of two species, rougheye rockfish (Sebastes aleutianus) and blackspotted rockfish (Sebastes melanostictus). Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands.
Funding has been approved for the NOAA-sponsored South Delacroix Marsh Creation Project through the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act Program. The project will restore more than 400 acres of marsh in Plaquemines Parish.
