Snake River Basin Hatchery Programs

Salmon and steelhead hatchery programs

Salmon and steelhead hatchery programs in the Snake River Basin rear Spring/summer and fall Chinook salmon, coho salmon, sockeye salmon, and steelhead. Hatchery programs are operated by the states and tribes located in the area, and are typically funded by federal agencies such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bonneville Power Administration, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Army Corps of Engineers, as well as Idaho Power.
