Summary

NOAA Fisheries proposes regulatory amendments that would limit access to the portion of the directed Federal Pacific cod fisheries that is prosecuted in the territorial waters of the State of Alaska, commonly known as the parallel fishery.  This action is intended to enhance conservation, management, and recordkeeping measures by changing the participation requirements for fishing during the concurrent Federal and state waters parallel fishery seasons.  This rule would reflect the intent of previous North Pacific Fishery Management Council (NPFMC) decisions regarding license limitation, sector allocations, and catch reporting
