Inseason action in the recreational salmon fisheries south of Cape Falcon, 2023

NOAA Fisheries has taken inseason action in the recreational salmon fisheries south of Cape Falcon. 

  • Inseason Action #30: Effective immediately, Tuesday, September 19, 2023, for the recreational salmon fishery from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain, 2,000 coho salmon are transferred on an impact-neutral basis to the September non-mark selective coho salmon fishery. The adjusted September coho salmon quota is 42,500.
  • Inseason Action #31: Effective Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 12:01 a.m., the recreational salmon fishery in the area from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain is open to retention of non-mark selective coho salmon. Daily bag limit of two salmon, but no more than one Chinook salmon.
