Courtney Groeneveld
Courtney works on digital and print products. She oversees social media, videos, podcasts, and graphics. She also leads the NOAA Fisheries website and is co-chair of the Web Council.
Previously, Courtney spent 10 years leading communications and outreach efforts for NOAA’s Restoration Center. She managed several websites, ran outreach campaigns, and helped design products like brochures and story maps. She also led interagency communications for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
Courtney earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental policy at the University of Maryland. Before coming to NOAA, she worked at the International City/County Management Association, communicating with local governments about complicated environmental issues.
