Jane Sullivan
Jane Sullivan has been with the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) since 2020, where she serves as a stock assessment scientist in the Marine Ecology and Stock Assessment program at Auke Bay Laboratories. Her work focuses on informing fishery management through applied data analysis and experimental gear research, developing software to improve existing data processing and stock assessment frameworks, and advancing methods in fisheries population modeling. Currently, Jane serves on the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Groundfish Plan Team and the national Fisheries Information Modeling System (FIMS) implementation team, providing support in developing next-generation stock assessment software. Prior to joining AFSC, Jane worked as a groundfish and herring biometrician for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. She was an Alaska Sea Grant fellow at NOAA Fisheries’ Alaska Regional Office, where she developed automated data processing and reporting tools for Alaska’s Groundfish Observer Program. She received a M.S. in Fisheries from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana.
